CHRISTMAS - Family Gathering

We get together on Christmas Eve this year .. a break from tradition.  Peter, Ryan and Ryan's Mom bring dinner and they, along with everyone else bring joy to our home on this blessed day.

DECEMBER - Still Volunteering to help with Medicare

It has been over 12 years that John has been a SHIP counselor in this area.  Brenda is really happy to see John at the 'After Open Enrollment' volunteer celebration.  He has been her mentor just over the phone for the past 6 month.  Nice to see each other in person.

NOVEMBER - Together for Thanksgiving

Once again the California clans of Lee and Daly get together at Peter's home for a tour of the newly redone exterior and a turkey repast. Those stairs are getting pretty steep for those over 80.

SEPTEMBER - A spontaneous Visit

It is always nice when we have some time off from school and get to go to GrandMa's house.  And Cath gets off work early to join us for dinner.

JUNE - Lunch with my old boss

John  attends one of the quarterly Exxon retiree luncheons where his boss when he retired 26 years ago is now the Plant Manger.  Sadly, the owner after ExxonMobil (Valero) has decided to shut down the plant where John labored for almost 30 years.  He brings up to date on all the details of the closure.

MAY - Mothers Day Luncheon

Cath invites Jo to a Mother's day luncheon at her home in Fairfield.  Attending the gala event is our old neighbor Barb Williams and her daughter Julie who has been Cath's friend through many years and still now.

MAY - Visitors from Afar

Sister Alexia is in the area so she teams up with Brother Peter to pay Jo-Ann a visit.  We enjoy the time really catching up on what has been going on in our lives.

APRIL - Happy Birthday!

John does most of the meal preparation now, so he orders up a meatloaf special for his 81st birthday.  Jo is always happy to have a nibble as long a she gets baked potato too.

APRIL - Happy Easter

The entire family except for Cath's dog come to visit and prepare a great Easter dinner for all.  Easter egg hunts are off this year - too expensive!

MARCH - Happy St. Patrick's day

The one day that Jo-Ann can eat all the cabbage she desires.

FEBRUARY - Who can smile at the DMV?

Even with an appointment it is tough to muster a smile while waiting to renew your license.  In CA it is ever 5 years for a visit and vision test.  Fortunately our birthdays are close, so we get back to back appointments which reduced wait time by one half!

JANUARY - Family visit

It is nice that family is close and we can arrange an occasional visit to just play some cards.
